Planting

How to deal with "Global Warming"?

There are two ways to deal with Global Warming. Firstly emission of "greenhouse gases" can be avoided or reduced. For this we need to identify what are the mainstream sources for the emission of such gases. Unfortunately in today’s world, there are no favorable conditions to avoid/reduce emission of these greenhouse gases. An alternative approach is to pump high volume “non-greenhouse gases”, thereby decreasing the ratio of greenhouse gases to others. Planting is one idea with same background. There may be several reasons for others why they plant. But, this is the only motive for our team to start planting …

Greenhouse Effect & Global Warming

Almost 100% of the observed temperature increase over the last 50 years has been due to the increase in the atmosphere of greenhouse gas concentrations like water vapour, carbon dioxide (CO2), methane and ozone. Greenhouse gases are those gases that contribute to the greenhouse effect. The largest contributing source of greenhouse gas is the burning of fossil fuels leading to the emission of carbon dioxide.

When sunlight reaches Earth's surface some is absorbed and warms the earth and most of the rest is radiated back to the atmosphere at a longer wavelength than the sun light. Some of these longer wavelengths are absorbed by greenhouse gases in the atmosphere before they are lost to space. The absorption of this longwave radiant energy warms the atmosphere. These greenhouse gases act like a mirror and reflect back to the Earth some of the heat energy which would otherwise be lost to space. The reflecting back of heat energy by the atmosphere is called the "greenhouse effect".

Our first visit to an orphanage

To start with, we decided to make a visit to an orphanage at Hyderabad. We have tried enquiring and got contact numbers of few. Finally we got an appointment to visit an orphanage & old-age home called “Araam Ghar” at Sivarampally near Rajendra Nagar. Frankly saying, we did not have a clue about what to do to keep people over there happy. We collected few unused cloths from our colleagues, bought about two hundred fruits and one volley ball. After reaching there, surprisingly we realized that people there need our presence, affection, love and care more than money or fruits! We distributed things we brought for them individually by going to each person and spent time with each of them. We saw people who got affectionate with us in short time and we were not able to leave their sad faces when we were leaving that place ...

2. Manisha (Manager, ITES Company)
There are lot more people, who are motivated by our initiatives including kids, senior citizens and youth. All we wish is to take it in a big way to achive volume results to the world. So, we need everyone to join hands with us and make the world "a better place to live".

Introduction

"Strive for better world" is an initiative to fight against different environmental, human and social problems; further to address each problem with distinctive and permanent solution. This will be achieved through motivating people, gathering them for social/environmental activities and further driving these initiatives independent of people.

To start with, we have scoped to fight against following problems:
A. Environmental Awareness & Protection
B. Fighting Against Child Labor
C. Supporting Orphan Children and Old People
D. Fighting Against Social Evils
